We had a four day stop over in Toronto and decided to discover the real Canada, the Great White North. So we rented a car which is about CAD$ 48/day to see the Niagara Falls and Algonquin National Park. What stroke us straight away in Canada was the warmth of a very welcoming nation. Just as you would expect Canadians to be – they are very chatty and friendly.

Top Tip: When renting a car in Canada you need a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW/LDW) which costs about CAD$ 30/day at the car rental if you don’t have a coverage through your credit card company. We purchased a separate CDW & Excess insurance through i car hire insurance for around CAD$9.

Total spending in Canada for 4 days was CAD$ 488/person (EUR 326/ GBP 296)
